Our Story

Can Pujolet is a rural hotel run by a small family who believes there is still an unexplored and wild Ibiza. We invite you to enjoy its silence.

We want you to enjoy the privilege of the intimacy of our ten rooms and service tailored to your needs.

The shelter

Although many pears have passed, Can Pujolet farmhouse is still our home. Over the last 30 years, my mother has converted this spacious and old typical Ibicencan farmhouse into the most charming rural hotel on the island. While doing so, she has managed to maintain its mid-18th century essence while integrating all the comforts of today for the wellbeing of our guests.

When I was young, I used to see our house as the perfect place for celebrities to spend the summer or for a writer to write his best book. Today, I think our rural hotel is the ideal refuge for anyone who wants to disconnect from the world for a few days and come back with completely renewed vital energy.

If you sleep in room six, I would like you to know that this was my room when I was a child. Room one is where I had breakfast with my brothers and sisters before going to school in the village.

Can Pujolet is a place where you can breathe simplicity and authenticity, and is located in one of the most rural and wildest corners of Ibiza, just a short drive away from everything this magical island has to offer.

A unique agritourism in the north of Ibiza

The first time my mother and I visited the farm there were mules, goats, sheep and rabbits. I invite you to guess which room served as a corral for almost three hundred years.

In the north of Ibiza, the years pass slowly and even more so here, as the Es Amunts mountain range is highly protected. Between forests and cliffs, and thanks to the work of several generations, the estate is an oasis of fields delimited by traditional dry stone walls that are home to all the biodiversity of the Ibicencan orchard. The great variety of fruit trees colours the different seasons of the year and provides much of the fruit and vegetables that can be tasted in our agrotourism.

All thanks to the magnificent well water, one of Ibiza’s most precious assets, which we find just a few metres from the house. This is how we began the transformation of Can Pujolet into a sustainable agritourism, a pure rural accommodation, where the conservation of the environment is one of the essential values of our hospitality.

Privacy, relaxation and comfort

When I started writing about Can Pujolet, I asked my relatives what their favourite room was. I was surprised by the fact that all the answers were different.

It is difficult to choose one of the ten rooms as the most beautiful, as they are all different and each one has its own charm. As the years go by, it still gives us great satisfaction to see how our guests enjoy their holidays in the same house, but each one in an intimate and unique space.

All the rooms share the same style and beauty and have the same services: wi-fi, independent air conditioning, minibar, television, a large wardrobe, central heating, private bathroom and a door to the outside. The price distinction is based solely on the size of the room, but in all of them you will live an authentic experience of a traditional Ibicencan house.

Your oasis on the island of Ibiza

All the rooms have an outdoor space where you can relax. Ideal places to enjoy reading, contemplating the landscape, listening to the silence, having a massage, practising yoga or letting yourself be carried away by a pleasant conversation accompanied, of course, by a good wine. At night you will have the opportunity to count the stars, under absolute darkness that will allow you to enjoy the celestial sky like never before.

The surroundings of the estate are the perfect place for activities such as hiking. You can also go cycling, horse riding or get fit with the help of a personal trainer.

A few minutes walk away, there is a cliff where my mother still goes almost every evening to watch the sunset. It is an unforgettable experience. From the viewpoint you can also see the peninsula, and a little further up on days with better visibility, you can see the city of Ibiza and the island of Formentera in the distance.

This landscape continues to impress me as much as it did on the first day.

16 metres of pure Mediterranean pleasure

Where years ago I used to play among stones and bushes there is now a large swimming pool. The perfect place to swim among olive trees and flowers.

Its crystal clear water is the result of using salt as a substitute for chemicals. You will feel as if you were swimming in the Mediterranean Sea.

The swimming pool area of the agritourism is dedicated to leisure and relaxation. It has a solarium and a take away point, where you can order and pick up your breakfasts or the homemade food you need during your days off. At Can Pujolet we prepare our meals with products from the hotel’s vegetable garden or local products from our neighbours in Santa Inés or San Mateo.

Es Amunts, the spectacular cliffs of Ibiza

Agroturismo Can Pujolet is located between Santa Inés and San Mateo, the two smallest villages on the island.

When I travel, I find it funny that people are surprised when I say I’m from Ibiza, and I like to add that I’m from the north of the island. Without a doubt the most authentic part, where you can still breathe the same atmosphere as in the eighties.

A resoundingly rural landscape of gentle mountains with a sparse concentration of houses, all authentically peasant and declared a World Heritage Site. A place where the fields are still cultivated and where sheep graze as they have done generation after generation. Where you can enjoy the most spectacular cliffs of the island, sharing the breathtaking views with falcons and seabirds.

Undoubtedly, the contrast between the sheer walls that drop vertically into the sea and the intense blue of the horizon will leave you in awe.

Cala Sardina, Es Camp Vell, Ses Torretes, the ruins of the Punic towers Des Lluc, Cala Aubarca… these are just some of the walks you can do from Can Pujolet.

With a short drive you can visit all the places of interest in Ibiza, and thirty minutes by car will be enough to cross the island to the furthest point.

Unforgettable walks

Even if you ask her a hundred times, my mother will always reply that the silence and the walk along the cliffs of Cala Sardina are her greatest motivation for taking such dedicated care of our agrotourism.

A walk of only fifteen minutes through the forest hides as many surprises as an attentive eye can discover: native orchids, old stone beehives, lime or coal ovens, haystacks… And a breathtaking sunset over the Mediterranean Sea that will remain, I hope, among your most treasured memories forever.

On the way back, it is worth taking a rest at the summit of Camp Vell, the second highest mountain on the island.

There you will enjoy a panoramic view that stretches from the peninsula to the Mola de Formentera, including the bay of San Antonio, the summit of Es Vedrà and Dalt Vila. A horizon that stimulates the desire to explore Ibiza from your refuge in Can Pujolet.

How to easily get to rural hotel Can Pujolet from Ibiza Airport

When you leave the airport, take the Ibiza – San Antonio road. After 12 km and just before a tunnel, you will find a turn on the right for San Rafael, take it and enter the village.

On your right, on the corner, you will find the Pilót bar and the small road that will take you to Santa Inés (that is, Santa Agnès de Corona, in Ibicenco). From San Rafael to Santa Inés is a distance of 11.5 km. Please don’t get confused with the Buscastell – Forada junction, which is about 5 km before you reach Santa Inés.

Once you reach Santa Agnes, exactly at the corner of the white church on your right, you will find a small road that leads to San Mateo. After 1.6 km you will see on your left a telephone pole with three orange marks followed by a large white stone that indicates the 900-metre dirt road to the agroturismo Can Pujolet.
